Hua Hin is a nice little seaside town in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, just a few hours from Bangkok. It has some nice beaches, and is a quieter alternative for people heading to Pattaya.

Hua Hin - beachThe beaches at Hua Hin aren't as busy as other places in Thailand. I think that Hua Hin attracts a different sort of traveller that Ko Samui or Phuket. Also, more Thai people from Bangkok visit Hua Hin, since it isn't too far to visit.

Buying a pineappleFor 20 Baht (65 cents), this lady chopped up an entire pineapple for me. There are plenty of vendors on Thai beaches. Most of them sell "junk" that I don't need, but they also bring food around. It doesn't matter how many pineapples I eat at home, because they never taste as good as the one I ate one the beach that day.

hotel on the beachThere aren't a lot of high rise hotels in Hua Hin, and most of the guesthouses are located near the beach.
